Durham Region Competitive Tennis League

All teams in DRCTL play both home and away games throughout the Durham region.

You may be asked to tryout. Players who have played in the DRCTL league in previous years are not guaranteed a spot and may be asked to attend tryouts as well.

Cost: $20 for the season
Duration: May – September, 7PM to 10PM

Doubles matches consist of 3 Men’s, 1 Ladies, and 2 Mixed.

Monday Evening
Doubles matches consist of 3 Men’s, 1 Ladies, and 2 Mixed.

Captains: Nichola Neville and Sarah Lalonde will each captain a B Team.

C TEAM

Wednesday Evening
Doubles matches consist of 2 Men’s, 2 Ladies, and 1 Mixed.

LEVELS OF PLAY

LEVEL A
Player has consistent, strong ground strokes from both sides. Can regularly hit winners or force errors. Player can successfully execute lobs, drop shots, half volleys and overhead smashes. Player has powerful first serve with consistent second serve.

LEVEL B
Player has dependable strokes on both backhand and forehand with power. Player has ability to lob, hit approach shots and volley. Teamwork in doubles is evident. Has power with first serve.

LEVEL C
Player can consistently hit medium paced shots. Player lacks some directional and power control. Some knowledge of teamwork in doubles. Moderate level of net play.

LEVEL D
Just starting to play tennis. Familiar with the basic positions for single and doubles play. Can sustain short rallies with players of same ability. Can keep score.
